Our teams were looking to keep the momentum going from a positive first Sunday to the season last weekend.

A handful of teams had their matches postponed, but 18 teams still played over the weekend.
Only four games at Gynsill Lane, all 11-a-side. The U13 Foxes league game against Barrow was postponed but they still got minutes as they played a friendly against Lutterworth and continued their good run of results with a 5-2 victory. The U14 Lions dug in with just 11 players and no subs, putting in a great display to beat North Kilworth 4-3 to make it two wins from two to start the season, as did the U15 Foxes as they beat Kibworth 4-1. The U16 Foxes squandered a three goal lead as they lost 5-3 to a strong Mountsorrel side but played well throughout the game.
Beaumont Leys School saw our U13 Lions share the spoils in a 1-1 draw with Glen Villa, while our Charnwood Sunday League side lost heavily to GNG, playing the whole of the game with just 10 men and losing 12-1. South Charnwood saw our U12 Vixens get their first victory of the season, beating Burbage 4-0.
Away from home, Saturday saw our U7 Foxes’ improvement continue with a good performance at near neighbours Anstey. Sunday saw our U9 Foxes and U9 Hawks play friendlies away to Bardon Hill and Narborough and both put in positive displays. The U10 Hawks good start to the season continued at Hinckley Borough while the U10 Foxes played well with no subs to call upon at Coalville. Best result for the weekend goes to the U12 Hawks who kicked off their campaign with an 8-1 win at Narborough.
The U14 Hawks couldn’t repeat their impressive victory against GNG they got last season as they lost 6-1. The U15 Hawks deserved to come away with at least a point from their long away trip to North Kilworth but narrowly lost 1-0. The U16 Hawks got their first league victory since February 2020, winning their first league game of the season 2-1 away to Kegworth. The U17’s lost 6-2 at Borough Alliance.
Next Sunday will see our Junior League teams playing in the League Cup while a couple of teams will get their season underway.
